This was a bird with ambition. On a boat safari on the Shire river in Liwonde National Park, we saw this kingfisher land close to the boat with a huge fish in its beak.
I used my 500mm lens on a monopod to get the picture.
We watched the bird position the fish in its beak for a good 5 minutes, debating whether he would be able to swallow something that big. Eventually, he did and stayed on that perch for a while, probably nursing an indigestion!
