As the level of Lake Nakuru NP was very high in October 2011, it was good for the pelicans and the lake was fringed with large colonies of these birds. It is very amusing to see them take off and land as they are very heavy and it takes a lot effort. This one had just taken off and was flying very low. The light was excellent and I took a few pictures as he flew past our car.
