Lilian Love Bird
These beautiful little parrots usually live in flocks and are quite hard to approach. Liwonde National Park is the only place in Malawi where they occur.
I was on a walking safari with a group of students from the school I was teaching at when I took this picture. For once the Love Birds decided to let us get close to them. I used my 500mm lense to get the shot, using my monopod for support.
