I was taken a friend and his girlfriend in the park and we had just had a very close encounter with a lioness and 4 tiny cubs on the plains near the airstrip when I saw this bird perched on a bush next to the road. I edged forward very slowly and stopped when I thought I was close enough. I took a few shots and the Whyddah bird did not move. I have seen Pin Tailed Whyddahs on quite a few occasions in this exact location, but they had never allowed me to get this close to take a picture.
