Praying Mantis
I found this big praying mantis whilst on duty by the swimming pool. I put it in a box and carried it to the photo studio where, with a colleague, we improvised a little photo shoot. The mantis behaved really well and was a good model. It was rewarded by a juicy grasshopper that it took gratefully and was released in my garden.
Nikon D700, Nikon 85mm macro lens VR, F5, 1/60th, ISO 1000, two studio lights, pop-up flash, Gitzo tripod.
