As we were watching lions at night in South Luangwa National Park in Zambia, we heard the cries of distress of a buffalo in the distance. We quickly went to investigate and found the buffalo on the floor, being eaten alive by four hyenas. The scene was gruesome but nature had to take its course.
As we were quite far away, I used my 500mm on a monopod, set the ISO to 1600, which unfortunately brought a bit of noise, added the full power of my SB800 flashgun and the spotlights from two safari cars.
