Lions are usually boring animals. Although high on the list of animals that people want to see on safari, they don't do much and sleep up to 20 hours a day. Catching them doing SOMETHING is exciting.
I was in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia, when we came across this pair of young lions mating. What added to the picture was the fact it was the rainy season and the vegetation around the lions was a very rich green.
I used my 500mm lens mounted on a monopod to take the shot from the safari car.
