I was on a self drive in Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve in South Africa and had a fantastic day drive with more than 20 white rhinos, a black rhino mother and calf that charged us (quite impressive when you are driving a saloon car!), elephants and lions.
We were just recovering for the black rhino charge when I spotted this Bee-Eater by the side of the road. I took my 500mm lens, braced myself against the window frame of the car and took this picture. The bird flicked the insect in the air a couple more times before swallowing it.
