Hermit crabs are very vulnerable creatures on their own. They need the protection of an empty shell to protect their soft body. This species takes it one step further as it collects anemones to put on its shell. The anemones can sting any would be predator. When the hermit crab outgrows its shell, it finds a bigger one but does not forget to coax the anemones on its newer shell.
Les Bernard L’Hermite sont des créatures très vulnérables. Elles ont besoin de la protection d’un coquillage vide pour protéger leur corps mou. Cette espèce va plus loin : elle « plante » des anémones sur son coquillage. Les anémones sont urticantes et peuvent piquer n’importe quel prédateur potentiel. Quand le crabe devient trop gros pour son coquillage, il en trouve un plus gros mais n’oublie pas de transférer ses anémones sur son nouveau coquillage.
