Although a small park by African standards (150km2), it is only from the air that you can appreciate the vastness of the open plains near the South East corner of Lake Nakuru National park. In the cluster of trees is Lake Nakuru Lodge, one of only 3 lodges located within the park. The Nderit plain behind was home to at least 3 black rhinos that I could locate very regularly, as well as a herd of Rothschield giraffes and a pride of lions. One of my favourite corner of the park!
