Flying over the lake gave me a perspective on the changes happening in the park when the balance is tipped. In the 18 months I visited the Park, the water levels rose substantially, flooding parts of the yellow fever tree forest. As Lake Nakuru is a soda lake, the water started killing the trees. It was visible on the ground, but even more obvious in the air!
