I spotted this tortoise in the plains just before Makalia Falls in Lake Nakuru National Park. I often saw tortoises in that plain. As there was nothing around (no buffalo, no lion, no rhino, and…….no tourist cars- it is a small track that the tour operators rarely use, but the animals mentioned before very often frequent) I got out of the car to take this picture that I had been planning for a while. I wanted to put the camera as low as possible, to show what it was like to be a tortoise in this world of giants. Not to be done if you are not familiar with safaris!
