The white stork has a special place in my heart as it usually roosts in the Alsace region in France during the summer months. To see them in Africa in winter reminds me of home. I had gone camping in Lake Nakuru National Park with my family when we came across this one at sunset after setting up the tents. The light was amazing and the colour of the clouds and the sky reinforced the whiteness of the bird.
