Juvenile Malachite Kingfisher on Perch
I had found the nest of a pair of malachite kingfishers, right by the road and not far from the main gate in Lake Nakuru National Park. Early one morning, I found this juvenile perched next to the nest. It was nice enough to let me take a few pictures before flying away. I saw it a few times before it disappeared for good.
