A lot of people dislike hyenas, thinking they are just ugly scavengers.
I love hyenas. The reality is that they are very good hunters, brave, incredibly sociable animals and can be very cute.
When I saw this young hyena by the side of the road in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia, I saw my chance to show them under a different light.
I used my 500mm lens, a Nikon flashgun and put my camera, set on ISO 800, on a monopod to get the shot.
