Flooded Road and Plain

One of the consequences of the rising water level in the lake was that hippos were more commonly seen under Baboon Cliff. There is only a small population of hippos in Lake Nakuru National Park but they became more visible as the water level rose. The river on the picture is the former main road. Another track had to be built about 500 metres more inland to allow visitors access Baboon cliff and the Eastern part of the park.
