Needle Fish

Needle fish are quite common in Marsa Shagra, on the edge between the top of the reef and the drop-off. They hang around in very shallow water. They look quite aggressive with loads of teeth sticking out of their jaws. They are in fact quite shy and always swim away when you try to get close to them. I was snorkelling when I took this picture.

Nikon D700, Nikon 28-105 mm macro at 34mm, F8, 1/250th, ISO 400, Ikelite Housing and Ikelite DS160 strobe set on TTL -1/3EV.
