Haddeda Ibis

Although I have seen many of these very noisy birds, I am always amazed at the colours you can see on their plumage when the sun shines on it. I took this picture as I was looking at a pride of lions from a causeway in Lake Nakuru National Park. There was a small stream on the other side of the causeway and the ibis was just patrolling the edge of the stream. As I had been stationary with the engine off for some time, it paid no attention to me whatsoever. I took a series of pictures as the lions were doing what they do best: sleeping!
